In Sweden second hand stores are not a new trend. In fact, they have been quite popular for multiple years now. Today, we will take a closer look at these shops and learn a bit more about what makes them so popular in the Swedish market. We are also going to look at some specific second hand stores that you have to check out if you’re ever in Stockholm.
Why are they so popular?
Many different reasons could be listed here but we have chosen the biggest reasons these stores are so popular in Sweden. The simple reason is the Swedish culture. We are a culture that loves recycling. We actually recycle so much that we have to import trash from Norway and other countries so that we can burn it for power and heat! Because of this, it’s not strange that we also like buying used things. In a way, it’s just like recycling old things and putting them to new use.

- Täby Drive-in Loppis:
This is less of a store and more of a garage sale. A bunch of different people take their cares and sell things from the back of their trunks. This is actually the largest flea market in all of Stockholm. - Siv och Åke:
A nice second hand store located on Södermalm. In here, you can find some really interesting stuff, and some great deals! - Myrorna:
This is a chain of second hand stores, found all over Sweden. All profits go directly to charity so by shopping here you are getting a great price and doing a good deed. Now that sounds like a deal to me.
